The Pinterest Queen

Design runs deep in the blood of the my family. All of us “Griffin” girls were born with that creative gene, and my cousin Bre is no exception. Her home is so darn cute and proves that you don’t need a huge design budget to create a wow space.

Bre is one of those Pinterest people. You know what I am taking about, the people who can make and do all this cool stuff that you see on Pinterest and make it seem so easy. But, it’s all a lie. Just like this bench on her front porch, Bre made out of an old bed. She makes it seems like it’s no big deal. Meanwhile, I’m over gluing my fingers together trying to make design boards for clients. Every project I have ever done from Pinterest ends up being a disaster.

And there is this, if the bench wasn’t cute enough, she took this old chest that was falling apart and repurposed it. Used some paint, created a few shelves and added baskets. All of this before you even make it in the front door of her home.

The first thing you notice when you enter her house, is this buffet turned media center. Her man found this at a flea market while traveling. Gotta love a man with a good eye for design!

I love this door, but I love it even more as a dining table. It takes the typical boring dining room and creates a fun, casual space to entertain. I would never have thought of using a pallet as my window treatment, but its perfect here.

Music is a big deal for this family as Bre’s honey Joe is the drummer for SOMD’s very own Sam Grow Band. These guitars not only make fabulous wall art, but hold sentimental value to Joe and I just love that Bre incorporated them into the space.

Barn door headboard, cute pillows, effortless style. Even Joanna Gains would have envy over this bedroom, I know I do.

Just because you rent doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. Bre added some peel and stick tiles to update the bathroom floor and a little fun with her “Get Naked” sign she made herself.

And now to may favorite room in the house. The princess’s room. aka Miss Presley. My family makes the cutest babies and I can never get enough of them!! I also didn’t want to leave her room. It’s the sweetest.

The crib was a basic white crib that Bre added an upholstered back to and made matching cornice boards. I could go on and on and use a hundred more pics of her amazing house. Not only is she a mom to 2 beautiful girls, and step mom to another beautiful, full of love little girl, but she has the cutest house, her hair is always perfect and she is always smiling. I would like to say I’m slightly jealous of her awesomeness but I love her too much and hope to convince her to come work for me when her babies get older:)
